ABOUT KRIS
A Caribbean girl with a bold imagination and a love for poetic, emotionally rich storytelling.
Hailing from the Cayman Islands and a child of the West Indies, Kris is a devout advocate for meaningful storytelling. She is a proud owner of an HBCU degree in Film & TV Production and Political Science from Oakwood University, and she is currently pursuing her MFA in Acting at Columbia University. For Kris, great storytelling does more than entertain. It moves people, challenges perspectives, shapes culture, and ultimately, changes the world. She's particularly passionate about bringing Caribbean stories and underrepresented voices into the global mainstream. Not simply as stories about where we're from, but as stories that speak to who we all are.As an activist, she remains deeply connected to the pulse of the people, allowing that passion to inform her artistry. Her advocacy has taken her to speak on Capitol Hill and with the White House. As a singer, her devotion to music has allowed her to grace the stages of the Minnesota Orchesta Hall and Harvard University. Ever a student of the entertainment industry, her journey has included working for Searchlight Pictures, ICM Partners, on the Les Mis North American Tour, and alongside mentors who have helped lay the foundation for her emerging career. Through AT&T's Dream in Black initiative, Kris was named a Rising Future Maker, recognizing her as a young creative helping shape the now, the new and the next.Grounded in her roots, Kris is an inevitable force, building a career that is as expansive as the stories she’s going to tell.
